Photo Diary : Kwandwe Game Reserve

About 2 weeks ago Jedd & I were lucky enough to be able to spend a weekend at Kwandwe, a game reserve just outside Grahamstown, for work stuff. It's pretty sad to admit, living in SA, but I have never actually been to a game reserve other than Addo when I was a kid, and this one pretty much outdid any expectation I could have had!
It's a whopping 22000 hectares, and completely wild. As in, don't leave you'r chalet alone at night because there's more than likely going to be some lions hanging out. Amazing, I basically wanted to pack up my life and move there. We saw lions, cheetahs, rhino, buffalo, elephants, loads of buck, and many other animals. Between game drives we got to chill in our chalets, which had a private pool and outdoor shower with crazy views of the reserve, and were constantly being fed the most delicious things. Oh yeah, at Kwandwe they give you dessert AFTER EVERY MEAL. Okay not breakfast, although there is a huge selection of fruit and croissants to nibble on before breakfast even begins, sigh, the food alone make me want to go back! This place has the perfect balance of undisturbed wildlife, and luxurious living.

Getting back to nature like this, even just for 2 days, felt amazing.
Going for game drive's at 5am, watching the world wake up, having sun downers in the middle of the bush, meeting new and interesting people, having cheetah chilling about 3 meters away from us, it was amazing, and even better because I got to do it with my best friend. x
